It has been a while since I have heard the most interesting songs coming from Weird Al since Poodle Hat in 2003. His latest twelfth album Straight Outta Lynwood reminded me of a hip-hop meets R&B parody album. Everyone song on here is good. But this is the first time in a long time since Amish Paradise that Weird Al has done R&B/rap parody songs. From I’ll Sue Ya to his most popular song White& Nerdy I would have say this album is one of his better current albums.
Favorite tracks:
1.) White&Nerdy
2.)I’ll Sue Ya
3.) Confessions Part III
4.) Trapped in the Drive Thru
There are also a lot of paraody beats from Usher, R.Kelly, Cake, Rage against the Machine etc. The overall flow of the album is even there is good mix of fast and slow songs. The only thing is I wish he would have done is that I know he loves to do polka music he should have kept it off this album. Since he was focusing on having a hip-hop/R&B theme I wish that he would have added parody of songs from beyonce, Jay-Z etc. I recommend this album to people who want to listen to Werid Al from a hip-hop/R&B feel.
