When I heard that South Korean pop singer BOA had an album coming out in America I was worried. Mainly because many Asian pop artists have tried their luck in the American market and haven’t done well. For example, Japanese iconic singer Utada Hikaru released Exodus in 2004. I had never heard about it until I found it at a used cd shop. The album was a flop it seemed like the same beats were used throughout the whole album. Here are details so far about BOA’s  US album which is entitled The First Album:

“BoA, originally titled Look Who’s Talking, will be the debut eponymous English studio album by Korean pop singer BoA and her twelfth studio album overall. It will be released on March 17, 2009.The album will be released in Japan boxed with her second greatest hits album, Best & USA, as a 2-in-1 CD. For the album, BoA worked with well-known music producers such as Bloodshy & Avant, Brian Kennedy and Sean Garrett. The recording of the album took place in Thailand, Australia, Atlanta and Los Angeles. On Space Shower Music Update during her interview, BoA said that the album consists of upbeat songs and the use of a vocoder^“.

I am looking forward to see how well she will do in America. I hope that she will be different and be herself and not try to be like the Asian version Britney Spears or Beyonce. Her official American site is also up you should definitely take a look at that.
