Korean dramas and movies have always been interesting to me. But, what is exactly a Korean drama? Here is the definition according to Wikipedia:
“Korean drama (Korean: 한국드라마) refers to televised dramas, similar to Western miniseries, produced in the Korean language for Korean audiences. Many of these dramas have become popular throughout Asia and have contributed to the general phenomenon of the Korean wave. Most popular Korean dramas have also become popular throughout East and Southeast Asia. Some of the most internationally popular Korean dramas are Full House, Stairway to Heaven, My Girl, Dae Jang Geum, My Lovely Sam Soon, Autumn in My Heart, Princess Hours, 1st Shop of Coffee Prince, and Boys Before Flowers. Recently some Korean dramas have gained modest popularity in Latin American countries such as Mexico, Peru, Chile, and Brazil”.

Korean dramas have started to become more popular in the USA. YA Entertainment, a North American company has helped to bring over very popular Korean series. Some of my personal favorites include Full House, Stairway to Heaven, and My Lovely Sam-Soon. These type of dramas are not only in Korea, but countries like China and Japan also have their own style of drama as well. Here are some trailers from some of my favorite Korean series:

Great blog! Have you heard that NBC has bought the rights to My Lovely Sam Soon? So, you may see that adapted for the U.S. soon!
