Indie Visual Novel Review:Songs of Araiah

Posted by: urbangeek08 on: October 14, 2009

Creator: Bishojo Games

Website: http://www.bishojo.tk/

Gameplay: Over two hours

Story: Jason runs away from his home in search of an elusive mansion beyond the forest at the base of a mountain. He seeks its sole resident, a lady believed able to grant any wish. However, she isn’t one to deal out favors for free. Is Jason willing to pay the price, even if it’s eternal servitude? And what secrets and histories does the mysterious lady possess?

UrbanGeek’s view:

Song of Araiah I would have to place in the same category as Narcissu. Beautiful, breath-taking graphics and  is one of the best story driven indie visual novel that is on the visual novel underground scene. Araiah is prove that you can make a visual novel without having hentai content and still have a lot of fun. The humor and romance between Jason and the magician was beautiful and you can tell that the creators took their time to make the game run smoothly. The text is not hard to read however the only complaint that I have about it is they need to make a sequel and also I would have like to have heard voices during gameplay. I would recommend this game to people who are fans of longer journey visual novels.

Rating: Excellent
